Download Help

I have downloaded an album from Qobuz and whatever I do on Metadatics in changing tags etc it is showing in the App as 4 separate albums split as to works on the album (it's classical). I can't see anything obvious in Metadatics and am losing the will to live!

Any suggestions please

Are you trying to amalgamate the four works into one album (?)   if so that is not the classic way to do it.  I have a number of these albums & if I want to play them all continuously I load them cued up in order & just let them play like a play list .
However if you do want to amalgamate the separate albums  you need to edit the track numbering.   I expect its set as 1-1 for track one in album one  ......   2-1 for track one in album two.
Change track 1-1 to 01 & track 1-2 to 02 & then the rest to follow on in track numeric order   01, 02, 03 ..... 09, 10, 11, 12 ....

No Mike they are not separate albums, it is 4 works on one album and the track numbers are 01-01, 01-02 right through to 01-24. Also showing disc 1 of 1 all the way through. Like you I have a number of multi album works and would not attempt to merge them.

OK,  in that case I am out of ideas, its what I did successfully with some albums.  I will have a look again at my albums that are shown as separate works & see if its the same for them ...... but I'm not at home at mo,   so will look tomorrow

Try changing the track numbers to 1/24 up to 24/24. Make sure the album artist is the same for all the tracks. That should fix it.

Thanks HH but that's what it's like now. The file name shows 01-01 to 01-24 or disc 1 track 1 etc exactly the same as all my other albums. Album artist is the same.

I have not seen this before.

Have a read of my post again. Change the numbering from 01-01 to 1/24 I.e. 1 of 24, 2 of 24 etc.

Change the file name numbering? Track numbering is exactly as you say.

Success. I deleted all the Track Artist tags and that has worked. Question is do I put them back and risk a nervous breakdown!

So long as the album artist is the same on all tracks you should be fine with the tracks being by different artists. This is an album I downloaded from Qobuz a couple of days ago. The album artist is Various Artists, but as you see, each track has different artists.

I think there was something underlying what I could see on Metadatics notwithstanding that they all looked the same and that was the root cause. When I have minute I will try and put them back.

Maybe you should install dbpoweramp. It's very powerful, and very easy to use as well.

If there is an option to mark the album as a Compilation then try that. It should then group on Album Artist instead of Track Artist.
