Hi Kuma

Thanks for alerting me to the Fischer/Levit concert.  Yes, the Wigmore is a treat.  Only the other day I was moaning that the USA, Germany and France received more visits from top artists than UK but was forgetting to check out the Wigmore Hall calendar.

Richard,

Intimate setting with a terrific acoustics is much better than a big orchestra in less than perfect acoustical environment. I can connect with the music or the artist much better in the former.

I get to hear Fisher and Levit ( he'll make the Chicago debut next season ) perform but just not together! ( which I think is more interesting )

Because I can't stop playing this excellent album.

Not heard of this group, Can you let me know a little more, what type of genre is the music, looks intriguing just going on album name and cover...

WENGER2015,. They are in the prog rock / post-progressive art rocker style of music. If you are into prog' rock then you really should  give them a try. If you have Deezer you can try them there (I assume that Spotify and perhaps Tidal will also cover them) .

back to back:  "The Griffith Park Collection" & The Griffith Park Collection 2 (in concert)"

Stanley Clarke (acoustic bass), Chick Corea (piano), Joe Henderson (sax), Freddie Hubbard (trumpet), Lenny White (drums)  originally released on the Elektra Musician label.

Now that's a group I've never heard before, going to have to check it out....

May be only available as downloads or streamed, Elektra Musician was a parallel label to Elektra and was headed by Bruce Lundvall who went on to head Blue Note before his passing in 2015.  Not all of these have been released on CD and vinyl may be very expensive.  If you Google the label you can get listings of the label releases.  I haven't heard them all but loved every one I bought (and unfortunately sold with my vinyl 25 years ago).  Some, as these two above, are available on Spotify and maybe other streamers.  regards, Jeff A

I can be slow at times, never thought to check YouTube before.  If you search Elektra Musician  you will get some hits.  I have been searching for Billy Cobham's Glass Menagerie "Observations &" for years and it is there in full. YouTube could let you at least check some out if not found on other streaming services.  Jeff A

Walter/NYP: Brahms Symphony No.2  1953 recording

It’s a big contrast to no nonsense approach of Toscanini where clearly Walter embellishes and exploits romantic side of Brahms keeping much the same sweet and gentle demeanor. The final movement is less intense than Toscanini but he’s got a tight handle on the band and delivers very together finish.

Only a year apart from Toscanini Carnegie Hall recording, yet this is a much better engineered and recorded mono pressing with a wider dynamics. Recorded at 30th st. Studio ( same venue as Mile's Kind of Blue ) there is a sense of the venue and much less dry than usual Columbia classical recording.

Melissa Etheridge. Your Little Secret. On CD from 1995. My wife has a stash of several ME Cds on the shelf. "Yes I Am" is a powerful rocking album. "Your Little Secret" - the follow up - has a couple of decent tracks, but is lackluster by comparison and one I probably won't revisit. The cover art has a neat feature; six separate photos of Melissa that can be aligned behind the cutout keyhole cover - FWIW.

Jackson Browne. Looking East. On CD from 1993. One I've come across in the past few months and have been enjoying repeatedly since. More like his 70s albums and less like his 80s albums. Includes a decent rappy reggae track, but overall the familiar Jackson Browne sound to me.
