Sturgill and his vans was touring in Europe. I'm not sure if they are still over there or not. Highly recommend catching them if you can. Those bots can play.
And Whitey is a bit more old school country. Both have great country voices. Not as smooth as Vince or Chris.
Heres one more. Hank III is sometimes hit and miss. When he does country he can but some of his other stuff can get out there. This is a good country album.

The Sails of Self - Rising Appalachia
(2014)
Trying this for the first time by streaming direct from Bandcamp. Nicely done world, americana and indie style from these two sisters.
In remembrance of Piotr - RIP....
Klemperer/Philharmonia: Brahms Symphony No.2 1956 recording
This set has the most inkling of Pastoral feel of Beethoven’s 6th in the beginning. He gives a proper statue and scale to the tune. Perhaps not as down to earth but it has a solid classic rigid structure in place.
Each instrument strand is clear in that some times it’s even fugue like. Beautiful sonority from Philharmonia wind players. Only marred by thin strings of this poor US reissue.
The music does not lose the freshness due to all instruments are heard clearly as well as clever use of pauses preventing from turning it into a gray uninteresting mass. ( it's easy for Brahms tunes to go *goo* ) This got the right temperament and colours for Brahms. It just feels right. It’s a pity that the ending chords do not have the low end heft to make it even memorable finish.
Lynyrd Skynyrd. Street Survivors. On original vinyl from 1977. I think it's Skynyrd's best album and well worth chasing down an original MCA pressing (with the flaming cover) - the SQ is excellent.
Bernstein/NYP: Brahms Symphony NO.2 1962 recording
Apparently, Brahms 2 was the first recording to be done at the newly built Philharmonic Hall aka Lincoln Centre/Avery Fisher hall and now renamed as David Geffin Hall ).
Interestingly it sounds less dry and dynamic than usual Columbia pressing from the same era.
Performance wise, Lenny goes sweet and gentle even complete with cutesy accents by pizzicato strings . Silky warm strings section adds a lyrical feel to the 1st movement. Broad tempo and spacious laid back atmosphere.
Adagio drags on a bit and not as endearing as Walters. Allegretto opens gingerly but soon get into a bouncy rhythmic groove a la ballet. Light handed and everyone is on a dancing feet. This just does not sound authentic or convincing at all.
Two other fails for Brahms No.2.
Monteux/LSO
Easy going more laid back Brahms.
More of organic approach where he sort of let it happens. It’s like allowing rolling marbles out of the bag scattered all over the place. Too unstructured for my liking as the music just keep wonder.
Szell/Cleveland
He's not usually my favourite conductor, but he sometimes surprises. But not for the Brhams Symphony 2.
Totally wrong colours.
The guy who literally invented LA Honky Tonk music. The above is his second album. The first is recognised as a stonewall classic of the genre.
2000 vinyl reissue of a 1974 classic. Saw him on Sunday night, and he was great:
A solid gold, wonderful, masterpiece. On original black vinyl.
