What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XII)

2016 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread (and links to previous years) can be found here;
Interesting works, by a conservative composer with confused political ideas. As a nationalist, for a while, he thought he carried and tried to gain the sympathies of the nazi regime, while in fact he did not because of his longstanding connection with Jewish friends and colleagues and refusal to give those up. Without the historical background I'm sure his music would have gained a much wider recognition.

The drums are a bit raw...., would have liked it to be a bit more subtle...

I'm concerned that you may have intended that as a compliment, Bert :-)

Van Morrison's Moondance. Vivid and fresh.

Ok but not super exiting, an Eastern European / gipsy type of feel to it...

Your concern is grounded....., however audiophile can also have a positive annotation - it's not all about nerds :-)

His Schindlers list has something special though, I think it's intended for him to play modern with a lot of effect, like this man Garrett....
Rush, A Farewell To kings, 2015 24 bit version, as close to the vinyl I first experienced at 14 as I've heard. Along with Moving Pictures for a long time my to fave Rush albums. 24 bit Flac via Audirvana/Hugo
Oldies but goldies.
John Grant - Queen of Denmark
Dead Can Dance, Within the realm of a dying sun on Tidal.
just starting to get into this band, and enjoying it
Bruce Springsteen. The Ghost Of Tom Joad. On CD from 1995. A couple of 60 degree (F) sunny days and the pollen levels are through the roof. Allergies are bonkers. This is a perfect album for some low-volume intimate listening.

Four live pieces recorded in various locations as part of their North American tour in '97. Sounding fresh and vibrant today with a fair amount of crowd applause in the mix.
I like this one, strong syncopic music...
