What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XII)

2016 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread (and links to previous years) can be found here;

Don't really need a reason to listen to this wonderful classic. Bit of a shock to me when it came out i.e. all that acoustic stuff, but I was soon hooked.

(1984)
Not only is it very good album in its own right but its further enhanced by the recording and sound quality on this original '84 Warner Bros. which are superb.

Fleetwood Mac In Concert - bought today on vinyl. Thought at first sight of the cover it was a new edition of Tusk, which I badly need given my copy bought on release, and despite being exchanged several times, has a fault all through sides 1 and 2 spoiling it completely. However bought In Concert anyway. Enjoying it without being overwhelmed!
Seems to a be glut of live albums of concerts from the past now being released. Guess with the cash cows that many bands were, having now gone due to a lack of new material, they are trying to extend the longevity of such bands by releasing such previously unavailable recordings.
As I say enjoying this - highlight to me so far is Mick Fleetwoods drumming, and on side 5 Buckingham has started to show his real worth as a guitarist, but overall it's not too difficult to see why this was not released in the early/mid eighties.

Graeme,
In Concert - just released this week. The material is from the tusk tour, which I seem to remember Fleetwood Mac Live was from, but could be mistaken. Probably a better quality recording than Live. - comes on 3 180g records, and mine are certainly of good quality.

It's the only that I have, Steve. I quite like it and should really explore their music a little more. Powerful stuff. ![]()

1st EP from these guys from Bandcamp, promising...

Good but not as groundbreaking as I had hoped, or perhaps I need more runs...

Fires is a life changing album, I applaud your taste Sir/Madam.
It's been some time since she came to Scotland but hopefully not too long before she returns.

A nice new album to end the day with, it's making me thinking a bit about Jahmal...

Cassandra Wilson's Glamoured.
Well, we all need a little sparkle.
