What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XII)

2016 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread (and links to previous years) can be found here;

Pink Floyd. Wish You Were Here (1975). On CBS Half-Speed Mastered vinyl from 1980. The band is just fantastic, that is really what I think.

Nirvana. Bleach (1989). 20th Anniversary Deluxe Edition from 2009. Very nicely packaged 2LP, 180 gram white vinyl with extensive large format photo booklet. Remastered by George Marino. What's not to like? The SQ - it's a loudness mastered disappointment. I was hoping for a sound like Bernie Grundman's vinyl remastering of "Nevermind" which was excellent.

Paul McCartney. Tripping The Live Fantastic. On 2CD from 1990. The 37 tracks are a nice balance of Macca's solo and Beatles hits, and much better in quality and production versus his prior "Wings Over The World/America". On his 1989-90 world tour McCartney played to 2.74 million fans, including 184,000 at a single show in Rio de Janeiro.

The Best Of Carly Simon. On original vinyl from 1975. Pretty much everything I care to hear from Ms. Simon contained on one album. "You're So Vain" is among the best pop/rock singles of 70's.
While you are listening to "You're So Vain", listen closely to the choruses not including the first (or better, use headphones) and you might recognize one of the most famous voices in rock and roll singing the background vocals...unless you know who it is already.
There's a laundry list of Simon's past 'flings' speculated to be the topic of "You're So Vain" (some real, some imagined by the press) but she's stated Mick is not one of them. No HPs needed ![]()
Quiet start of the Sunday morning....

The kids have me up early again, so as I can't bothered to choose, I'm just streaming the Blues playlist via Tidal. Currently 'Anyhow' by Tedeschi Trucks band. Not a band I know but nice enough on a Sunday morning at 8:30 after a late night.

I don't have this one Tony, good ?
It's the only that I have, Steve. I quite like it and should really explore their music a little more. Powerful stuff.
My personal fav of their later period. One for testing the system as well as the bass goes through the floor.

Fun electronic, electrohouse style and what is described as cyber punk, combining Japanese and oriental styles into this interesting dance and beat driven album.

The XX - Coexist. On vinyl
The LHI Years: Singles, Nudes & Backsides by Lee Hazelwood on vinyl. Fabulous two-LP collection of singles from 1968-71. LHI (Lee Hazelwood Industries) was Lee's label that he ran from exile in Stockholm, realeasuing records of no commercial potential aimed at no-one in particular.
