Fleetwood Mac In Concert - bought today on vinyl. Thought at first sight of the cover it was a new edition of Tusk, which I badly need given my copy bought on release, and despite being exchanged several times, has a fault all through sides 1 and 2 spoiling it completely. However bought In Concert anyway. Enjoying it without being overwhelmed!

Seems to a be glut of live albums of concerts from the past now being released. Guess with the cash cows that many bands were, having now gone due to a lack of new material, they are trying to extend the longevity of such bands by releasing such previously unavailable recordings.

As I say enjoying this - highlight to me so far is Mick Fleetwoods drumming, and on side 5 Buckingham has started to show his real worth as a guitarist, but overall it's not too difficult to see why this was not released in the early/mid eighties.

The same happened to me when I bought Tusk not long after it came out. Played it and heard distortion, had it swapped for another copy that was in the shop and it was the same. Grrrrr....

A beautiful album. Very much looking forward to seeing Nerina live again. Only seven weeks away now

A life-changing album, I applaud your taste.

It's been a while since Nerina came to Scotland, hopefully not too long before she's back.

Fantastic performance of Andriessen's neo-romantic second symphony and other assorted works. If you would like to sample Andriessen's highly accessible output, there is no better place than the Ricercare (track 4).

Cheers

Nice one Kevin and it's still his best solo album.

For the same reason I just played his last one, this album was his next and followed Really two years later.

The Best Of Carly Simon. On original vinyl from 1975. Pretty much everything I care to hear from Ms. Simon contained on one album. "You're So Vain" is among the best pop/rock singles of 70's.

While you are listening to "You're So Vain", listen closely to the choruses not including the first (or better, use headphones) and you might recognize one of the most famous voices in rock and roll singing the background vocals...unless you know who it is already.

There's a laundry list of Simon's past 'flings' speculated to be the topic of "You're So Vain" (some real, some imagined by the press) but she's stated Mick is not one of them. No HPs needed

I had always heard that t was Warren Beatty as the topic of the song.  Mick was just the BG vocals on the chorus - and IIRC he is not given a credit anywhere on the album.  (I may be incorrect on that last bit.)

Second pressing. I was afraid that I could be dissapointed in this (i.e. all the praise would have been circumstantial) but that was not the case. This indeed is an interesting record.

I know what you mean. Quite good.
