Been a couple of years since last playing this CD rip.  Had forgotten what a great a concert this was! Such a huge sound from just one singer and two guitars...

Rush. Hemispheres. On CRC vinyl from 1978. "The Trees" is both musically and lyrically one of my favorite Rush songs.

Fleetwood Mac. Tusk. On 2LP original vinyl from 1979. Another one of those albums from my youth that I appreciate more these days.

Nirvana. With The Lights Out (2004). Just arrived today. Live recordings and demos impressively packaged with a tin cover and 60-page booklet that provides extensive documentation and photos. The 3 CDs proceed in chronological order and I'm spinning disc 1 which starts with material from a house party in 1987. Chad Channing's drumming strikes me as more 'lively" than the comparatively gorilla-handed Grohl. Cobain's guitar and vocals are nonetheless the dominant feature.

As a side note to Roger Waters fans: there actually is a Radio KAOS, located in Olympia, Washington, that recorded several of the early tracks here.

A great singer - diction, musicality, it's all there - plus a feeling of unlimited resources on tap. All volumes of this series are recommended, but the songs here are amongst Schubert's best.

Cheers

Hi Mike, I agree completely.  I, too, shall be digging deeper into her catalog.  The crystalline quality of her voice is stunning.  I believe my listen may have been prompted by your posts - my thanks.  Very enjoyable start to the day here.  regards Jeff A
