2016 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.

Playing his new one here....

Interesting experimental jazz and electronica/sounds on Hubro Records - excellent label.

Not a lot happens on this album but I find it strangely addictive. Nils Okland plays along on violin.

Funny - without knowing you played this I switched to this
Fine chamber jazz....
The first album released in 2012 from GoGo Penguin. No doubt that this band owe some of their inspiration to E.S.T. but they also have their own style too. Really like their music.

If push came to shove this might have to be my single GD desert island disc. I really don't think there's anything else like it by anyone. It shows how the Dead really were true innovators - a weird and creative alchemy.

Thanks to Debs for posting this a while back. I've been meaning to buy it for ages. Did not disappoint.
Original vinyl...
Been a while...First 12" single I ever bought

Searching Tidal for something different I looked up EBTG As I have Walking Wounded. Never listened to this before and quite glad it is playing now. May not be the best album in the world, but worth a listen.

On vinyl.

Sam Cooke. Portrait Of A Legend. On 2LP from 2014. A couple of years ago I heard rumors about an upcoming big-screen biopic of Cooke. It would certainly make an interesting story complete with its tragic truth is stranger than fiction ending.

Waylon & Willie. On original vinyl from 1978. A big success in its day and since heralded as "a country album every rock fan should own", I picked up this LP because Waylon and Willie were great as a part of Neil Young's "Old Ways". I'm a little underwhelmed on first listen, but suspect it deserves some repeated listens.
Had to play this during my workout - as prep for my concert this evening...
