What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XII)

2016 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread (and links to previous years) can be found here;

Led Zeppelin. In Through The Out Door. On original vinyl from 1979. This great album always brings back fond memories - my junior year of high school and fishing in central Ontario. Played it a lot back in the day.

Lynyrd Skynyrd. Pronounced 'Leh-'nerd 'Skin-'nerd. On original vinyl from 1973. Now that I know how to say the band's name I can sit back and enjoy the music. Great debut album.

Fantastic debut album, I'm not so sure they ever hit those heights again tbh

Bonnie Raitt. Luck Of The Draw. On CD from 1991. Heavy on production with an extensive list of contributors. There's even bagpipes on the fade out to the final track. Delbert McClinton's vocal contributions pair nicely with Raitt.

I'd tend to agree. The band was well seasoned on its debut, although I'd hold Street Survivors as equally good. Too many plane crashes in rock history
.
Rush, Signals, the world's greatest group's tenth album because I've been wide awake since 4am and I may as well make good use of the time. 24 bit Flac via Audirvana/Hugo

The Small Faces. British Legends. 3 CD set from 2008. Just unsealed this and played CD1. The packaging is cheap with flimsy CDs and jewel cases, and no liner notes beyond original credits. That said the music of the band is quite good and a live performance reveals they were a powerful stage band. Good stuff if you're into late-60's bluesy Britpop with a psychedelic bend sung with cockney.
Starts off a bit too much in an artistic manner, 2nd half of the album much better

Quite enjoyable and gentle, normally Richter is not so well recorded and harsh...

On CD:-

This is not the easiest music, but I'm slowly getting to like it. Alina Ibragimova is one of my favourite violinists.

Ultra soothing. CD rip

Boxer Rebellion "Promises"

Van Morrison "Too Long In Exile"
On CD:-

Oasis, (What's the story) Morning Glory, an album that defined a period in time for me. Doesn't quite have the magic it used to have but worth a listen every now and again even if just to prompt pleasant memories. 24 bit Flac via Audirvana/Hugo

Tori Amos "The Beekeeper"

Fionna Apple "Extraordinary Machine"
This among many as i am auditioning a pair of Ovator S - 400 over Easter and i must say it sounds pretty sweet..![]()

Original Vinyl.

Because this is another new discovery (for me) and I absolutely love it. It's on Tidal. Brilliant stuff.

Unsure what to put on first and then this caught my eye.
Matt P posted this earlier in the thread, so I thought I would get out my Classic Records 200g vinyl version and give it a spin.
