2016 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.

Neil Young & Crazy Horse. On HDCD from 2012. First listen. The whole concept of this album is a strange creature to me - NY & CH putting their sloppy metal spin on (mostly) traditional American folk songs. The unorthodox variations are fun, developed, and play with interest - something you might enjoy stumbling into a western bar on the Fourth of July to hear by a band playing for beer.
As a side note, this is the latest HDCD I'm aware of, so perhaps noteworthy in that regard.
On CD:-

An appropriate album for a fine breakfast....

Then switched to this .....

To end at this fine album. Yesterday the 1st run, now enjoying a 2nd run, full piano sound...

First run of yet another Knopfler acquisition. CD rip.

On vinyl.

Airbag - All Rights Removed, very good album.

Listened to this more in the past 3 days than I have the last 10 years. Sucks it takes a death to reconnect with it.
Marvellous and mellow music making from Per Oddvar Johansen.

On CD:-

Biber is one of my favourite composers, and I heard an extract from this wonderful new album on Radio 3 this morning. Now downloaded from Qobuz and playing. The playing and recording are both exemplary.

I'm having a bit of a Floyd afternoon - Animals followed by DSOTM (both sides) and I think I'll finish of with a bit of the Division Bell. All on original vinyl and sounding as good as ever.

Most excellent it is, too. (HD Tracks 44/16)
