2016 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread (and links to previous years) can be found here;

2002 - Original Double Vinyl...

On Vinyl

Some good beer drinking music on a Friday night.

Little Richard. Rock 'n' Roll Legends. On CD from 2008. A great 20 track compilation of Specialty Records recordings from 1955-57. Pioneering rock 'n' roll performed with the requisite piano and sax. Heavy on boogie-woogie and Little Richard's boundless vocal energy. Highly recommended.
Borders Nick posted:Very nice, gentle Americana from these guys. Tidal
IMHO I think their 2013 album Silver Lining is a better all round set.

Patsy Cline's Greatest Hits. On HDCD from 2003. Wonderful, warm music from a by-gone era.
Sinatra - In the wee small hours of the morning
Honey tones.

1st run...

1st run, sound quality is not dissapointing ...

Great atmosphere on this one. Tidal

Solo piano (+ some vocalising which can be an acquired taste...)
CD rip

On vinyl. I really enjoyed playing their second album yesterday, so here's the first:

I had a hankering to hear one of my favourite Dylan tunes, "Isis", so I slapped on this 2 x 45rm MoFi reissue from a couple of years back:

1st run, delicate...

I'm undecided as to whether I prefer this or the first Mahavishnu album, but this is doing its second play of the day so far.

The 1992 recording keeps getting better and better with time.
A very rhythmic album, I like it...

CD rip to NS01/NDS as my LP12 has gone on holiday to Rearsby.
Watched the BBC i-Player documentary about Janis last night, so thought I'd give these a listen - downloads at 24/192

Another good one from Enrico

On vinyl.
During workout...

Then had a quick listen into my new high res version...

Now listening to this, which is very nice ambient music from Bandcamp. You can enjoy it as main course, but also listen to it in the background...
