2016 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread (and links to previous years) can be found here;
Paul Simon - Still crazy after all these years. Perfect Saturday morning vibe on a weekend off. Lavazza on the way....

Sat - house to myself got to be.
remastered on Vinyl - the music production on this is outstanding for the time - should give the new 282 a work out

Earthy and edgy modern jazz....

My son is home from Uni and has taken charge of Tidal. Alt-J - Quite enjoying them.

Delicate playing...

Piano sonatas by Rachmaninov (No 2, Op. 36) and Brahms (No 3 in F minor Op. 5) as well as a good portion of Schumann's Kreisleriana, all performed with youthful energy and romantic richness.
Currently basking in the divine melodies of the first Blackfield album (streamed CD rip). If you don't have it in your collection, I would strongly recommend it.

Now enjoying this gem from Chris Difford ably supported by Francis Dunnery and Dorie Jackson:

Inspired after the Chris Difford album:

The new album from the wonderful Ben Watt.

Lloyd Cole and the Commotions - Rattlesnakes
I needed to hear again:
I was looking for a rhyme for the New York Times
When I sensed I was not alone
She said "do you know how to spell 'audaciously'?"
I could tell I was in love

Sorni Nai by Kuanu
Very good melancholic and melodic metal by this Finnish Band. The subject and driving force of this album is about the terrifying mystery of the Dyatlov Pass Incident which helps to focus the perspective of the album sung in both Finnish and occasional flourishes of Russian. Recommended, the sounds and atmosphere they create are very good indeed.
