I think I prefer this to its earlier "companion" "Sea Change".

Me too.

osprey,

Thanks for the post - just dusted off this CD I enjoyed way back when. Good funk for its time though no longer holds quite the same musical interest for me today. Still, it congered up fond memories of a past place and time when I was living in Alaska. Old friends and such.

On white vinyl. The Dame's best 1990s album.

Yoko Ono: Yoko Ono/Plastic Ono Band. Because Yoko has been getting some bad press in these parts and I want to stand up for her. This is a teriffic album. On CD.

Randy, this is something which gets played once or twice a year – fond memories indeed attached (as you seem to have also). The 80's after all was the golden decade for me (not necessary best music but the life was really good, not so bad since but still…)

Jean-Michael Jarre

Electronica 1 The Time Machine

Just saw the new trailer for Electronica 2: The Heart of Noise on you tube and had to play what for me is one of the best albums of 2015, counting the days till this gets releast.

One of my favourite 80s post punk albums - wonderful, if obscure.

There's something about this wonderful album that makes me smile. It's just so uplifting.

What do you think of it? I played it once at the weekend and found it hard to get into. It had a rave review in The Guardian. It's often the case that records that need a little perseverance are he most rewarding in the longer term.

Similarly - I was drawn to this at the weekend by the Guardian review and HH's original post.  I'm not familiar with his solo work but Ive been dipping into this  & "Hendra" over the past few days.  Like you I  suspect they could well be "growers". Time will tell.
