Thanks for the posts Mike. Inspired me to spin "InaLa", my only LBM album. A nice organic departure from my typical 'amplified instrument' listening.

Led Zeppelin IV. On original vinyl from 1971. No need to elaborate on 'why anyone might be interested'.

The Black Crowes. Shake Your Money Maker. On original CD from 1990. Seems a reasonable segue from LZ IV.

Magic mixture of musical fragments. On vinyl:

UK first pressing. Superb close-miked recording made largely in London (Abbey Road, I think). Fantastic singinging, judiciously-chsen covers, a great selection of BG originals and superb arrangements. What more could a listener ask for?

1970s Italian pressing. A random pull from the shelves:

Vince Gill "Down To My Last Bad Habit"

More Todd. An early pressing with the die-cut sleeve.

Rodney Crowell "Tarpaper Sky"

On UK first press vinyl (not my LP12 by the way)

Keith Urban "Defying Gravity"

Thanks Jeff. Definitely one to investigate. RC's 'Fate's Right Hand' gets some heavy rotation here. Do you have his 'Cicadas' (band) album?

More lovely stuff from a talented song-smith.

John.

I will listen to the two you have mentioned, thanks.  I have access to his stuff on Spotify and have enjoyed all I have tried, not sure if those listens included the two mentioned.  Thanks, Jeff A

21 prime slices of funk and soul on one double vinyl album. Some super stuff on here, especially Reggie Milner's outrageously funky "Soul Machine" and the brilliant "Big Legged Woman With a Short, Short Mini Skirt" by the splendidly-named Israel "Popper Stopper" Tolbert & The CA Warren Players. Funk makes me sooo happy, even though I am not a dancer.
