I do like it, Nick, and the album makes a lot more sense once you know the story behind the title. I also remember the recording sessions about a year ago. I have not enjoyed much of her latest material, including Let England Shake, but this album is more polished and highly recommended. Have a listen and let me know what you think.

Another fine 1994 Definitive Edition Remaster. This double CD recorded live in Paris. Playing the second ripped CD.

The above albums were todays listening.
Triggered by the question about the Beethoven String Quartets, I now listen to this, enjoyable...

Great late sixties style psychedelic.
Nerina Pallot, The Sound and the Fury. It amazes me how good this woman is and this new album is just as good as her earlier work. Heard a good few of the song last night and having a first listen now, will be purchasing it for sure. Qobuz via Audirvana/Hugo
Neil Young - Harvest
Shift ends, a cold one opened, weekend starts.

Jerry Joseph "By The Time Your Rocket Gets To Mars"
Bonnie Raitt, Dig in deep, don't know much by her but spotted this on Qobuz new releases and thought I'd give it a try. So far so good, bluesy rock and rather pleasant. Qobuz via Audirvana/Hugo
Richard and Linda Thompson - I wanna see the bright lights tonight
Don't we all!... In the meantime, the guitar on When I get to the border lifts the heart.

Can recommend her "Road Tested" live album as a good overview. Her 70s albums are very good as are "Nick of Time" and "Luck of the Draw"
She plays with great authority...

"Nick of Time" and "Luck of the Draw" are top notch LP's due to the fact, every track on them is excellent. Later albums are a bit inconsistent, two or three excellent songs per album but the rest not so good, and I should know I probably own every studio album she's made. (apart from Dig in deep).
I'd say she's THE greatest interpreter of other peoples music, usually betters the original. Richard Thompsons Dimming of the day is a good example.
Plus, these a pretty mean slide guitarist.

Agree about her talent as an interpreter and would add John Prine's "Angel from Montgomery" among others to her list of great covers. BTW, if you don't already have it her early recording at Sigma Studios (originally a bootleg) is really worth seeking out.
