What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XII)

2016 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread (and links to previous years) can be found here;

fresh from Record Store Day here in NYC. fun (at times, otherworldly) tunes and surprisingly listenable, given that the material is sourced from cassettes found in the Oakland, California public library.

Came in today's mail. First listen.

The Cars. Eponymous debut from 1978 on original vinyl. One of my most played albums back in my high school days.

Crosby, Stills & Nash. Daylight Again. On vinyl from 1982. A good album, perhaps a more modernized version of the trio's 1970's hippie sound. Art Garfunkel's vocals seamlessly fill Crosby's absence on a couple of tracks.
Another one which is enjoyable from Donald...

Boston. On original vinyl from 1976.
Forty years on it's still bustling with musical energy and a worthy argument for rock's best debut album.
Don't like this one so much due to the dodadidodadido vocals...

Nice relaxing during breakfast...

Jackson Browne. Eponymous debut on original vinyl from 1972. The emergence of a gifted tunesmith.
Christina Pluhar - L'arpeggiata - All' Improvviso: Ciaccone, Bergamasche, & un po' di Follie
Very nice Baroque/Jazz Folk crossover. (I think) ![]()
Ah, I love L'Arpeggiata. You've inspired me to play this...

I've only just discovered them.
I bought a large CD collection before Christmas (about 800 in total). Slowly getting through them, opened a box last week containing half a dozen Christina Pluhar CD's. (CDs)![]()
A Steve J recommendation - great jazz funk groove. Up really, really loud. Ohhh yesss....

Radiohead, The Bends, because it just happens to contain my two favourite Radiohead songs and because it's much more accessible than some of their other albums. Sounds rather nice too. Tidal via Audirvana/Hugo
Sonny Rollins - Way Out West
With a cuppa in the spring sunshine.

Record Store Day 2016 Release on Soul Brother Records.

Amazon Product info... Eleanore Mills is a classic Soul singer with a sweet and sophisticated voice, who recorded her debut album 'This is Eleanore Mills' for the Sylvia Robinson's All Platinum subsidiary Astroscope in 1974. The album has a broad range of Soul and early Disco/Soul cuts. It did not sell in vast numbers on its initial release but has become heavily in demand in the last 20 years and appeals to a broad spectrum of Soul and Disco collectors and DJ's. Original copies are highly collectable and in mint condition LPs now sell for around £300 - £400 Eleanore went on to record with Norman Connors on his 'This Is Your Life' album in 1977 (recently issued on CD by Soul Brother) and then developed into singing Soulful house having a huge record with 'Mr Right' in the late 80's.
