Streaming | WAV

(1971)

I think it was Tony2011 that pointed me to this one last year and I've been enjoying it ever since. This one is the 40th Anniversary remaster.

I honestly do not remember, Steve , but it's a great album with a stellar lineup. Airto/Cobham make it rather special. Thanks for reminding me of it.

Sound quality of course not great - but a nostalgic value...

For "obvious reason"; one of my favourites album ever and one of the greatest artist concert I have attended to (Sign O The Times Tour)

Just carrying on with some more George Benson, what a fine touch he has on the strings.

Tidal HF... Ahhhh, Grace!

Redshift

First self titled album. On Tidal streaming.

At first glance, sounds like it should be Space-Rock. Actually it's very. clever jazz. The sound quality/production, is astounding, drum transients are to die for, in particular. This album is an excellent good PRaT tester.

I love Naim's Neil Cowley, and Redshift, but is a welcome change

Very much look forward to hearing Redshift's later offerings.

Listening to a 24/176.4 version of this on my new Astell & Kern. Sounds brilliant, and hearing all sorts of new detail.

Saw them live in 67.

New deluxe version with live trax tacked on to the original album

24/96 bit version which is more open sounding and not as congested as the "modern mastered cd".

Though I have heardfrom some friends that the vinyl is supposedly even better

I was quite disappointed by this album despite the line up of the early 70's, whatever the bit rate!

Yep couldn't warn you guys what it was like. Tried desperately to like it but the only track that I ended up liking was the second last one. I don't think I have ever heard a worst set of lyrics on album period. My 7 year old Goddaughter could write better ones.

Did you not find it sounded a little over produced?  It's full of detail and dynamics but I'm not sure if I prefer the original mix

Indeed, Ewe. Glad I'm not alone!
