Schwartzkopf/Fischer: Schubert Leider Recital 1952 Recording

Fabulous combo. The best Gretchen at the Spinning Wheel I have heard to date.

RHCP's. On 2CDs from 2006. Unwinding with this after a wonderfully competitive National Championship football game. Congrats Tide.

Very good progressive rock album, and I fear the last one of Porcupine Tree, which is a big pity...

This version is for me not so ground breaking as with some of the other pieces Gould played..., while it's still enjoyable..

Something to aurally slap me around the head and get me going.

Bruce Springsteen. Born To Run. Early pressing from 1975. Much as I find the heavy production and flat sound unimpressive, the passion and musicality readily trumps all that. A landmark American rock album that transports me right back to my early teens.

Original vinyl...

For obvious reasons. Vinyl. It's really growing on me. I think it may well turn out to be one of his best albums.

While running in my 300DR I’ve been waiting for a suitable opportunity to play this. For those on here familiar with the album you will know this is not one for quiet late-night listening. Even moderate levels don’t really do it. No, to do full justice to this album it needs to be played loud. This afternoon and with the neighbours out that opportunity presented itself. Oh, my! The dynamics, the heft of the bass and drums, the soaring strings and vocals. And the scale - the performance felt 50% bigger than I remember. Absolutely bloody magnificent.

This is what playing music should be about: where it touches your soul.

Tremendous Mike! I can only imagine what this great album (one of my favourites over the past year or so) sounds like with your 300DR in the driving seat. Long may you continue to enjoy it and the 300 as you obviously are...

Another album that needs and deserves the wick to be turned up.  A very enjoyable drum solo on this album.

I have been getting to really enjoy this band and particularly this album of theirs.

I've always particularly enjoyed Walk on the Wild Side on this album where the background singers get ever closer to the mic on successive choruses.  The effect on the final chorus is very intimate.

Never a particular fan of Sting but I think that this album has a lot going for it with a number of very good songs and sounds on it. Not been played for years her until now...

This is a kind of strange album as it represents different styles of jazz music on one album, and it's to difficult to realize how it fits together. But at the same time interesting enough to keep you focused...
