Vinyl version of this fab box set:

Had this since its release - but never really got into it.  Giving it another run this afternoon as I came across it while randomly browsing.  Some nice tracks.    CD rip.

The Carpenters, Gold, prompted by another thread, a voice as smooth as silk and I doubt I have heard a better from a female.  Flac via Audirvana/Hugo

Try Mary Black too......

Thanks for the recommendation, had a brief listen last night and will explore further.  Thought she had a lovely voice but not as smooth or effortless as Karen, from what I have heard so far but these things are all subjective and I look forward to listening more

Enjoy Dayjay....No Frontiers is a good cd to start with. As an aside she often tours with Eleanor McEvoy which Graham was listening to above. Not heard that album yet, but she is one talented lady.

Orchestra Of The Age Of Enlightenment  -  "Bach: Violin Concertos"

I haven't played this for a long time; in fact this is the first time I've ever played it since ripping it to the NS01 in 2013. It's a surprisingly good album.

A 1959 historic recordings. The first time that Roland Hanna abandoned his sideman role to start leading a jazz ensemble, creating a foundation to his evolving sound signature.

Perhaps it be given the honor of first played when the amp arrives.

For a sunny morning on the 1st of May. Don't think Ash bettered this album.

Great album Mike almost on a par with their eponymous first album but for me there was only ever the thickness of a Rizla paper in it.

Wouldn't disagree that this and Pilgrimage are close, Steve.

Time, I thought to myself, for an ultrasonically cleaned prog banger. And what better than this warhorse? This is the 2003 180g remaster and it sounds pretty good.

Would very much agree that No Frontiers is the album to start with. Still gets a regular play by me and I must have listened to it hundreds of times over the years.

On the touring front, I thought she had stopped now. At least that's what she said when I saw her perform at Guildford last year.

I know this album tends to divide opinion between Floyd fans, some suggesting that the band didn't really have their heart in the performance.  Must say I like it, particularly CD2, which I'm playing now.

I saw this and thought, that's a good idea - I'll play my vinyl copy of this next. And then I remembered that my turntable is still on holiday in Rearsby. But the normal world order will be restored next weekend

On the subject of female vocalists, Rita seems perhaps to have been a bit unfairly overlooked ( by me at least)

One of my very favourite Yes albums, putting it into the playlist to stream anon.
