Santana III - great album, and half of a musical trivia question answer;

Which 2 albums represent the longest stretch between #1 charting albums by a single artist?  Santana III (1971) and Supernatural (1999)

Inspired by Joe Rand's current Mellencamp-fest decided to dip my toe in the water as I'm not really familiar with his work.  Starting in reverse order of release date, with this one from 2014.   Like it a lot on first listen  .  Tidal.  More exploring to do.

Nick,

Glad to see you're getting inspired with Mellencamp. "Plain Spoken" is a good one, "No Better Than This" a novel departure, maybe akin to Springsteen's "Nebraska". Hope you continue your reverse chronological exploration. Otherwise, the stronger Mellencamp albums I'd point you to are "John Mellencamp" (1998), "Human Wheels" (1993), and his three successive albums "The Lonesome Jubilee" (1987), "Scarecrow" (1985), and "Uh-Huh" (1983). Cheers!

'American Fool' in his John Cougar guise is a classic too.

Bruce Springsteen. Magic. On CD from 2007. Continuing with my Springsteen-fest. Another heavy production album and despite Bruce's weary look on the cover shot, it's bounding with energy. The E Street Band sound is solid while the violin,cello, and mandolin accompaniments are welcomed.

When I fancy listening to The Beatles my go-to albums are either Abbey Road or Sgt Pepper, so I thought I'd try something different this time.

Early US ABC pressing. The sheer amount of detail a clean with the Audiodesk reveals is amazing. Hearing things from this record I've never heard before...

Great choice, Kev. Pressing may be big standard but the music is certainly not.

Last one for today before heading off to do some work. This had always sounded stunning, but after an ultrasonic cleaning, welll... I didn't think there was more detail to be had from this recording, but I was wrong...
