What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XII)

2016 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread (and links to previous years) can be found here;

I like to see this ready availability of live music. I recall while leaving a McCartney concert in 2002 saying to my wife something like "Gee, wouldn't it be great if we could walk out and buy a CD of the fantastic performance we just heard? You'd think the technology is in place to do so." Pay $15 and wait a minute while a CD recording fresh off the mixing board is burned for you. Well, of course there has to be some editing and approvals involved in the process, but it seems Springsteen's got the right idea with a quick turnaround of his performances available for MP3 download. Bruce has the power and following to make this model successful. It will be interesting to see where other artists go with this notion in the future. Maybe others are doing it and I'm not aware.
Never knew why he didn't do it earlier and why more bands don't do it as another stream of income.

Their latest excellent release, once again this live concert from (literally) inside a Berlin swimming pool was originally recorded in 2008.

I love that album, every track is wonderful, especially the mournful title track, with Robert singing 'we've nothing left but faith....'
It's a bit gloomy for a lovely sunny spring morning, so I'm playing this, which although mournful in parts is beautifully played.

A great covers album from Ace.......................on Tidal.

indeed. i usually hear music "on pair" with my psychic situation.
my mother said to me once: if i (she) was to kill myself (herself) and had any doubts,
after hearing any of the dark trilogy from The Cure, i (she) would in an instante. LOL

Just as enjoyable as when I got it in 2012. this was likely an Amazon 'if you like this' recommendation. along with the forum and radio, a very nice resource for discovering new music.
Ezra Furman & The Harpoons - Mysterious Power
Lindi Ortega - Faded Gloryville

Having neglected this album for years I gave it a play the other evening, prompted by this thread. I enjoyed it so much I've dug it out again.

I heard her and some tracks on Bob Harris Country last night. It sounded as though this might be as good as Stones In The Road. Are you allowed to comment yet?

A superb album that I have been playing alot since Bruce Woodhouse introduced the forum to it. If someone told you this was a long lost tape of some San Fransisco band's psychedelic rock recording from the late sixties or early seventies, you would believe it.
Daydreaming - Radiohead. Tidal.
Different more "ambient" style compared to "Burn the Witch" & no Trumpton style video to accompany it ! New album out on Sunday apparently.

Joanna Newsom - Have one on me ( disc 1 )

Lead singer of Antony and the Johnsons solo
