2016 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread (and links to previous years) can be found here;

(1969)
Roger Chapman's very distinctive vibrato vocals coming more to the fore here in their second album.
Quite a melange of jazz/funk/world/etc . Tidal.

Saw this album mentioned on the thread about test tracks. I used to have it on LP but I surrendered my vinyl collection a long time ago and have never replaced it with a CD. That error has just been corrected. So this is my first play for many years.
On CD:-

An unusually sensitive opening of #1 grabs hold and sets the stage for stunning, soft-spoken performances of both sonatas. Highly recommended!

Bruce Springsteen. Darkness On The Edge Of Town. On an early vinyl pressing from 1978. Continuing my Springsteen sojourn and for me this is The Boss' best and most impassioned album. Powerful for me in that it takes me back with strong emotions to the times and places I heard this as a teen in high school. Memories of fond friends with all the world in front of us.
IMHO this is his best album. It got me through some very tough times when it came out.

Among pianists, Paul Dukas' Sonata in E flat minor has acquired a singular reputation, not only because it requires considerable technique and physical stamina to pull off, but also because it is one of the least performed of the great late Romantic keyboard works. Marc-Andre Hamelin makes it sound easy.

French House producer, was blown away from the first song, even my 15 year daughter asked me, who is this, amazing music. Best album for me of 2016.... I got this on Vinyl as a gift, superb sound and music quality

Karthäuser's soprano has a smoky edge, which makes her perfect for Wolf's sophisticated music, which comes across as a mix of Schubert and Korngold.

Excellent, I have to seek this one out, check out his duo with Leslie West doing Mississippi Queen, some of the finest guitar playing you will hear.
Found the video on YouTube. Enjoyed that, thanks, Jeff A

The last track of second side "Mood" is aweome!

One of my few gold UltraDisc CDs. I've always had a soft-spot for this Tull album having seen them perform it live, albeit I believe the band produced it as something of a pi** take of other bands' 'concept albums'.
Of course, the CD doesn't remotely do justice to the fold-out newspaper-stlye cover of the LP which I remember reading with much amusement. Bands don't seem to put the effort into things like that these days.

Broken Bells - "Broken Bells"
Inspired to listen to this as a 24 Bit download

As the evening wears on it's time for something slow and restful.

The Weepies - "Hideaway"

And earlier, probably one of my most played albums. CD rip.
