Hi HH. thanks as well. Rachel Podger is an unknown to me, but Isabelle Faust and Hilary Hahn are also some of my favorites.
First album today, first listen

Which prompted me to put on The George & Ira Gershwin Songbook from The Complete Ella Fitzgerald Song Books box set.

CD 1 of 3.
Dynamic, varied and tuneful. The inclusion of trombone and vibraphone give quite an exotic feel. CD rip.

28 minute long track from Neil Young's upcoming retrospective album "Earth". Exclusively available via Tidal apparently. Not my kind of thing normally, but an interesting listen.

Been a long time since I heard this album - remember buying it back in '77. Tidal.![]()

Earlier this afternoon... (vinyl)

I enjoyed this.

Now playing this. Both via Tidal.
pursuing some relaxing afternoon listening session with

still on vinyl. very enjoyable but my reference remain the 10 inches EP Girl at Her volcano
On CD:-

I bought this today on vinyl. Heard a couple of tracks beforehand, which I rather liked, so I thought I'd take a punt. Soaring, ethereal, eclictic pop. It's absolutely fcuking stunning. And that's just side one!

Something a bit rougher now, after all that etherealness ![]()
A1/B1 Porky vinyl on Track Records:

Nice blues groove from Ben Harper and the reunited Innocent Criminals.

On vnyl. Purchased today. This band (Wire) have been going for 40 years. This album was released just a couple of weeks ago, and thus far, it's really, really good. It's very gratifying to note that [this bunch of] oldies [at least] can still cut it.

In the mood for some TYA, this one is them at their most jazzy.

It's absolutely brilliant Stevee - well worth a listen.
Cold Blood - their second album Sysyphus, on US first pressing (Bill Graham's San Francisco record label). There's a funky on my back!

Emil Viklicky (piano) & George Mraz (bass): Together Again
Two Czech musicians who attended the same Berklee College of Music in Boston. Viklicky returned to his native country while Mraz built a career in the States, getting credit on almost 1000 records and CDs. Highly recommended.
Thanks Kev I've found it in the Deezer Elite library and stuck it into my "to be played anon" list ![]()
