2016 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread (and links to previous years) can be found here;

Having neglected this album for years I gave a play a week or so ago and enjoyed it so much I thought I'd give it another spin. They were quite a band.
One of the great understatements in the history of contemporary music!
Modern piano trio...

Sounding Krystal clear.

Enjoying the gorgeous voice of Mary Black.

A lovely voice indeed.

1992 - streaming CD - WAV
Sax, bass, drums......again the proof that such a kind of trio can work, while there have been even more exciting combinations. From Bandcamp ....

1978 - Original vinyl...

This gentleman is no longer with us but his music lives on. This is just brilliant and its on Tidal.
A new one for me Nigel - Very good indeed. Great recommendation.
If you like the above then give the following a go where Chris Jones was joined by his harmonika playing pal Steve Baker. I consider CJ as one of the finest country/blues guitar payers ever and SB one of the very best harmonika blowers full stop. The following is rather bluesy and if it don't get yer feet a'tappin' and yer head a'noddin' then there's something wrong. Maybe turn it up a bit! It's on Tidal.

This gentleman isn't with us either, and his few albums are brilliant. Ex busker, sometime heroin addict and a great folk/blues/soul singer. We once saw him in Lewisham back in the 80s, and it was wonderful.

On good used vinyl as heard at Munich last weekend on 1924 Western Electric horns. It still sounds good here, but not as good as those horns, sadly :-(
1st run....

1973 - Lark's Tongues in Aspic - Original vinyl...

Thanks for the tip - I shall give Ted a go.

Tonights listening.

Not listened to this in ages but it came up on Asset's Album Jukebox playlist. A great way to remind you of albums which you've forgotten about. This is a fun album produced by Robert Fripp with contributions by fellow Krims Bill Bruford and Tony Levin.

Thanks Nigel - I'll give this a listen during the week. Currently playing "Free Man" again - still sounding great.
Fate The Juggler, Set In Stone.
Found on Tidal, interesting bunch of musicians playing a mix of Folk, Rock, Country etc. Enjoying this very much.

First real listening session, good album...., while not for casual listening.....
