2016 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread (and links to previous years) can be found here;
Bring on the horn section!
An album I found on my NAS. It's Calexico, I thinks it's live in Nuremberg November 2009.
Most enjoyable.

One of the two best in the world

I do like this album and it is well recoded. I'm no jazz fan but this one of the few albums that I like.
Original Vinyl pressing
Foo Fighters -Medium Rare 96/24, if memory serves it's a needle drop I made.
Morcheeba "Head Up High"
On CD:-
Natalia Zukerman "Come Thief Come Fire"

Yes, Graeme. I have had the same disappointment. My HiRes download was 'toppy' and flat (and expensive). My old CD while less detailed remains more enjoyable.

Fancied something 'ballsie' to counteract the cold outside. This fits the bill very nicely.
4x LP, 2x CD and 1x DVD.
LP1 sounding pretty good.

Exactly my finding. Money down the drain.

Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers "Nobody's Children"
Virgin store downtown Chicago was like your record store in London where store clear will recommend which CDs depending on my taste. They hired a knowledgable sales staff. I miss those good old days.
That's why forums like these are so useful. Found music I may never have heard otherwise.

Isn't it a super recording, they don't make that kind of jazz any more.It was the first LP I bought after we got married. Still got the LP in the limited but must keep record collection, but its on 24/192 WAV these days.
K.B. didn't make too many bad records. Understated class, somewhat the jazz equivalent of JJ Cale.
Mono vinyl.. Still sounding good at 50.
Prompted by threads on upcoming concerts and this lady's tour in April. I've become a big fan of Nerina since seeing her last year and am very looking forward to seeing her again.
