What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XII)

2016 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread (and links to previous years) can be found here;

The Beatles. Revolver (1966). Continuing my lovefest with my Beatles' original issue stereo CDs from 1987.

Paul McCartney. Tug Of War (1982). On CD from 1985. Having mentioned Carl Perkins in a prior post tonight I pulled out this one. Great McCartney/Perkins duo on this album.
Diane Birch - Bible belt
Ariel is the most gorgeous stand out track
A relaxed start to a morning off (with decent coffee) before a shift.

I know it's not regarded as one of her best, but it's good all the same. It still contains some absolute classics including 'I'm a Dreamer', 'I Wish I Was a Fool For You' and the brilliant 'One Way Donkey Ride' as well as new discoveries for me such as 'Take Me Away', which I adore. Whatever, it is the gorgeous voice of Sandy Denny.

Why, oh why didn't I go to see her when I had the opportunity in November 1977?
Marillion - Misplaced Childhood

This Grundman/Guthrie/Plante vinyl remaster from 2016 (today, in fact), is pretty good: well-pressed, well-printed and decently-mastered (although it does sound a tad "modern" in its presentation, which some people will like and some won't). If you're looking for PF on vinyl and don't want to pay silly money for originals, then you can buy these with a measure of confidence I think.

One of those albums that you have to listen to from start to end in one go.
Kate Bush, The Whole Story, original vinyl, because I need a break from putting up shelves!

+1 with ewemon arrived today "Paul is embracing his dotage with his songwriting powers intact. Its a complex, autumnal and thoroughly rewarding listen".... Vinyl.

Poco - "Legend" (1978)
Thats an album I haven't played in many a year Jeff.
One of the advantages of Spotify for me. I had this on vinyl back in the day but never replaced it with CD. Nice to dig up some of this old stuff at times. I was a big fan of all the personnel combinations of Poco over the years. regards, Jeff A

The Barr Brothers - "Sleeping Operator (2014)
It's poptastic! But that ain't Martin Fry on the cover...

I've had, and always will, have a soft-spot for this album as it was the one through which I discovered Genesis, or more precisely the band playing this album as the support act to a gig I went to. I was blown away and have been a devoted fan ever since. "Play Me My Song........" Oh, yes!

Thanks Jeff, I look forward to watching this later.

Prompted by this thread. Very usual for me as this is a high-def download into my nDAC via a USB stick. Sounds damn good though.

Whether this Mozart guy will have the lasting appeal of ABC (see above) I don't know, but the Hagen Quartett do play it rather well.
