Airbag - Disconnected

I am still waiting for my CD to arrive, pre-ordered it from the bands website so I should get a signed copy.

Continuing the 80s theme with Frankie Goes to Hollywood and Welcome to the PLeasure Dome on original vinyl.  Not only a damned good album that was way ahead of its time but also a superb recording.

Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. Looking Forward. On HDCD from 1999. An OK album but given the talent assembled, I have to wonder whether four hearts were really in it as one.

Now enjoying it in high res...

Spin Doctors. Pocket Full Of Kryptonite. On CD from 1991. There are three brilliant songs on this debut album. On some listens the other seven seem 'more of the same' filler to me. Tonight I'm finding a nice groove with the entire album. The band really had quite a tight funk to their sound with a subtle blues influence.

Joe.

Get onto ebay and buy the European version, this includes three bonus live tracks. IMO the bonus tracks are better than the stydio tracks, although "forty or fifty, is also outstanding.

I saw them live at the Manchester Academy many years ago, excellent band.

FC,

Thanks, will look into your suggestion.

I saw the Spin Doctors circa 1995. They were the after game attraction at a minor league hockey game in Seattle. The band was set up on a tiny stage slid onto the ice with terribly underpowered amplification. No surprise the sonics were horribly harsh and distant, akin to a loud AM radio playing from a refrigerator in a large cafeteria. Not sure what the promoters were thinking.

So much different from all the others, intriguing .....
