I fancied a quick burst from the 'Brothers and this album is doing the trick.

Counting Crows - "Saturday Nights & Sunday Mornings" (2008) Stunningly good guitar playing on this, not recommended for the SQ gang.

Shawn Colvin and Steve Earle - "Colvin & Earle" (2016) Second listen, did not really connect with this the first time. Will keep tryin' in the short term.
Jeff - didn't really grab me either on first play yesterday - I'll give it another run over the weekend.

2007 - Tidal...
Just cleaned on the Okki Nokki:

Big Big Train, Goodbye to the age of steam. Tidal into IPad Air2 with a Dragonfly Red Dac to B&W P7 headphones. My first listen to this and it sounds wonderful.

Hi BN, the second streaming was a little better. I like them individually but am not seeing any advantage to the duo. An Amazon reviewer tried to compare it to Plant/Krauss "Raising Sand". I would not agree with that (not even close IMHO), but I am only renting it (Spotify US) so I will keep streaming it at least a few more times.
Feel the same way about case/lang/veirs, but that needs more listens as well. regards, Jeff A

LP - "Death Valley (EP) (2016)
Rush, Moving Pictures, visiting an old friend on vinyl, best album by the best group Wat more could you want.

The Temper Trap - "Thick As Thieves" (2016) Excellent third full-length release from this Australian band.

Etudes of Chopin and Corigliano, surprisingly co-existing well on the same disc:

Got turned on to this at my Naim dealer a couple of weeks ago - excellent and very well recorded:

One of my all time favs. I still don't understand how somebody can say so much in just a three minute song.

Another one I never get tired of.

I struggled with it too. I'll be interested to hear whether either of you feels it improves with acquaintance.

He also plays on this album, which I have always liked, so it inspired me to give a listen:

Steve Miller Band. Three CD box set from 1994. Delving into more of my CD box sets. This essentially a protracted 64 track anthology of Miller's best stuff that date. Great grab for an ardent Miller fan.
