2016 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread (and links to previous years) can be found here;
First run of this on Tidal - hmmm.. Initial impression is, not for me I think.

Leonard Cohen - "Popular Problems" (2014)

1968 - Mono - Original vinyl...

Coldplay - "A Head Full Of Dreams" (2015)
Mike Oldfield, Tubular Bells, original vinyl as I work my away through boxes of albums. the sound of my youth and still parts of which give me goosebumps
One of my favourites from early this year. CD rip.

Original CD from 1987.

Meat Loaf, Bat out of Hell, not the best sounding album ever but brilliantly good music and just as enjoyable to listen to as it ever was. Original vinyl.

Mid-range and vocal delivery of SBLs exemplary.

If only the deliveries from England's midfield were a bit better! ![]()
Because I love the passion in his voice.

Just a great listen.

Seen this posted a few times. Giving it a listen via Tidal now

Vinyl.
Some Pips Staples and Chris Stapleton.
Pops not Pips.
Ending the night with The Misfits. Collection 2 via Tidal. Misfits with Danzig is the only Misfits for me.

The Beatles. Love. On CD from 2006. Got an email from the lads' website recently announcing this is available for streaming. A good reminder I hadn't played this in a while. A brilliantly creative musical journey from Giles and the late Sir George. Great cover art as well. Would love to see the show one day.
Steaming | WAV

(1993)
Volume 3 of 4 comprising most of The Royal Scam '76 and Aja '77, just because it's a pleasant way to start the day.

The Steve Miller Band. The Joker (1973). On XRCD from 1998. The "Japanese CD Formats" topic inspired me to give this a listen.

Playing disc two live from the Empire Pool Wembley in '74. It's been quite a while since I've played this one, sounding very good in DSD.
Another Forum recommendation from a few weeks back - Tidal.
