What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XII)

2016 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread (and links to previous years) can be found here;
And earlier over dinner via the Muso - yet another recommendation from here - Tidal.

Guns N' Roses, Appetite for Destruction, because it is one of the best rock debut albums ever and it rocks! On original, not especially in good condition, vinyl but still sounds great

1973 - Original vinyl... and the best version of The Musical Box.
More italian stuff

Always been meaning to explore his work more as my knowledge of Italian music is very limited.
Swedish stuff - Tidal

Prompted by another post.
On original vinyl:

Why? I fancied a trip along the lazy river...

This guy made some good tracks, My choice.

First run of some this mammoth Qobuz download - 104 tracks, 9 CDs-worth at high res . Because I quite like a bit of classical piano now and again and was seduced by the bargain price of £11 for the lot as pointed out by Bert Schurink.
Several failed attempts at overnight downloads due to low broadband speed here in the sticks. Eventually resorted to dowloading blocks of 3 or 4 tracks manually
Worth the effort though
.

1974 - Original vinyl... This one is for Gian. "Just Look Away" is a great track. ![]()

Thanks Gian. I do remember that track. I used to listen to a lot of PFM in my prog days. They used to be called the poor man's King Crimson but they were good in their own right and wrote some cracking stuff like Celebration.

1975 - Original vinyl. A bit of decadent rock. You gotta love them!![]()

ELO, Discovery, it's easy to forget nowadays just how huge these were back in the day. This is a really good happy album with no weak songs and the added bonus of The Diary of Horace Wimp, what's not to like. Original vinyl
Vinyl

Heart, Bad Animals, because I will be watching them in Manchester and Glasgow next week and am rather looking forward to it! Original vinyl
This is a beautiful album, Hanks tenor sax playing is beyond good however, Art Blakeys drum solo on "This I Dig of You" is out of this world no wonder Ginger Baker sights him as one of the greatest Jazz drummers of all time and a major influence on his playing.

Music Matters 33rpm Blue Note reissue..

On vinyl.
