2016 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread (and links to previous years) can be found here;

Saw their very first UK gig.

Last of the evening.

You might also love her "One Fair Summer Evening".
The Cars, Heartbeat City, a bit of new wave rock and very good it is too. This is their fifth album from 84 and contains one of the few song most people know, Drive. Brilliant. 24 bit Flac via Audirvana/Hugo

(2015)
Last one for tonight, a slightly "softer" more melodic Riverside on this album which is no criticism, it suits them well here.

Great version of Sandy Denny's Who Know's Where the Time Goes.

I used to luv the cars back in the day, many happy memories around the years of their early albums. I guess the album must be sounding great in 24 bit, was it remastered or has it remained unmolested?

Yes one of those happy groups that remind me of happy times Steve. They are relatively unmolested in so far as I can tell although I haven't got them all on 16 bit and so haven't compared album to album. Had the greatest hits and then saw the 24s and got most of them.

I'll probably stick with what I have which is all of their albums in 16/44.1 up to and including Heartbeat City, just had a quick look and the DR on HC 24/96 looks pretty good. http://dr.loudness-war.info/album/view/69161

Airbag - Disconnected. Another great album from the boys.
+1 finkfan, superb album
2000 Endless Days:

Eberhard Weber - bass
Paul McCandless - oboe, English horn, bass clarinet, soprano saxophone
Rainer Bruninghaus - piano, keyboards
Michael Di Pasqua - drums, percussion
Unfortunately, after a stroke, Eberhard Weber is unable to perform anymore.

Why am I listening to "The Bluest Blues" by Alvin Lee at a rather elevated volume .. because the bride is away for a couple of days and I am on the outside of a rather nice bottle of Malbec .. what a fine guitarist he was .. and Ten Years After were a great band.

Hi Larry,
CD or vinyl? How do you like the music? I'm thinking I should spring for the vinyl - it registers essentially twice the DR of the CD.

CD, I like it, the CD has excellent SQ. I may go for the vinyl too. Let me know if you get vinyl and your opinion of it.
First some Mad Season now onto Alice In Chains.

Vinyl.

Dying Surfer Meets His Maker ~ All Them Witches
(2016)
Just a random pick from Tidal to start the day and what a good album this is. I think I will be going over to Bandcamp later in the day to download more of their work

Says it all.
During my workout...
