Does the tape stay intact over such a long time ?

If stored carefully, Bert, it does. I have cassettes that are 30+ years old that still sound fine. Had a couple of very old ones that have died on me but that's quite rare.

Original pressing on Radar Records, from 1978. Listening to this brings back memories of a happy summer that year:

On noughties reissue vinyl. The Rother/Dinger connection. Glorious.

I've just downloaded this, following a brilliant review in The Guardian. The review was right...

Another cassette-only release (at the time anyway, it came out on CD later), "Pal Judy" by Judy Nylon:

I used to have that on the original vinyl, which was released at the same time as the cassette. Wasn't it on On U Sound?

(1983)

The album that was to be the end of another era for 'Floyd. Good sound and recording quality ripped from a 1985 original EMI (UK) disc.

Didn't know it was on vinyl Nigel. It was co-produced by Adrain Sherwood but was on ROIR, which was a New York-based cassette-only label set up in 1979 (it might have come out on LP here on On-U, though, as Sherwood was involved).

I have quite a lot of their stuff in my collection - James Chance, Suicide, GG Allin, Durutti Column, Glenn Branca, etc. Great label.

There is a vinyl copy for sale on Amazon for about £70. I wouldn't mind the CD though, or a download. I think I'll be disappointed.

(1994)

On original EastWest label, sounding very good for being so well recorded something fortunately Vangelis seemed to take pride in.

The first Cream album I bought with my hard earned cash.

Barry Diament remaster CD rip. Still the best version for me.

Product Details

Wife's out so will start the evening off with some classic Mac on original 70's vinyl.

It still amazes me how good a bit of black plastic can sound, it's still the only way to listen to music as far as I'm concerned.

Delicately played - very nice...

I love this, a sort of jazzy, ambient, electronic take on some well known opera pieces, with no singing. It's just brilliant.

Good as it may be,  I suppose it is nowhere near as enjoyable as your  original turquoise copy, Steve?
