What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XII)

2016 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread (and links to previous years) can be found here;

HDCD

original 1974 Vinyl purchased when I was 18. Playing to listen to "Time waits for no one" which by the way was never played live.

Tom Petty. Full Moon Fever. On the original CD from 1989. A great album. Petty's first solo album (without The Heartbreakers) though Campbell and Tench contribute. The Traveling Wilburys (sans Dylan) also contribute.

Not sure why but this is the second time I have posted this cover tonight and the last post has disappeared.
Might be the modified content warning
I haven't got round to this one yet. What do you think of it?
The added noises for me detract from the album otherwise it wouldn't be a bad album.
Just reading Rolling Stone's synopsis. David Fricke describes the noises as "overdubbed with choral gleam, extra guitar drama and noisy approval by a peanut gallery of livestock, turkeys, insects and crows. There is also rolling thunder and hard rain". We've heard thunder and rain from Neil before on 'Live Rust', but livestock, etc.? I guess at age 70 Neil will do as he pleases. I'll be interested to hear how it all plays.
1st run, interesting music...

Chuck Berry. ICON CD from 2011. Some rock 'n' roll roots always nice from the master of rhythm and rhyme.
1st run, completely different from the earlier one today..., but very speaking to it's title...

Little Richard. Rock 'n' Roll Legends. On CD from 2008. Following my Chuck Berry listen with more great rock 'n' roll roots from a master of vocalization.
1st run....

II (Deluxe) by Unknown Mortal Orchestra
After their appearance at Glastonbury yesterday and Tony2011's championing of them this year, they are a good psychedelic style Indie band making very enjoyable, interesting music.
This excellent CD box set Vol 1V is particularly outstanding..

With the 555PS on the NDAC the hall reverb is more apparent, adding further to that 'being there' sense.
Great album.

Good album indeed, I "re-aquired" it just this week ![]()
Federico Mompou: Musica Callada, Secreto

Spanish composer Mompou, known best as a miniaturist, was heavily influenced by French impressionism and composers Erik Satie and Gabriel Faure. Other elements that affected him were the sounds and smells of the maritime quarter of Barcelona, the cry of seagulls, the sound of children playing and popular Catalan culture. Jenny Lin captures the spirit of the compositions with her measured and thoughtful playing.

Just putting this double album on, it's a good trip through their hits, better known singles and some previously unreleased tracks.

Jake Bugg - "Shangri La" (2013)

Off to a great start with two young(er) artists I admire very much. Simply just great music making.
