What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XII)

2016 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread (and links to previous years) can be found here;

Rosanne Cash - "10 Song Demo" (1996) simple acoustic-based album, great vocals and great songwriting.

case/lang/veirs - "case/lang/veirs" (2016) So far, for me, I am finding the sum to be less than the individual parts. Giving it more time.
Another day's gone

On Tidal

(2015)
I have been enjoying this cracking album of late, an Indie band (British Sea Power) and a competition standard brass band (Fodens Band) get it on and make some really good and interesting music together. I wouldn't go as far as some of the hyped up quotes (below) but its's different and worth a listen if you like the sound of a full brass band getting a bit Indie...
The Sunday Times "the best band in Britain".
"British Sea Power usually sound bigger than their six members as it is - let alone when they throw a brass band into the mix… beautiful… exultant." - The Independent
"Wondrous… there's a breathtaking poetic beauty coursing through Sea Of Brass." The Quietus

More original vinyl:

Why? Felt a bit 80s. Had Human League's Dare on before it.

Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats
Got the CD on the back of their Glasto set on the Beeb and I'm liking the sound of this.
Giving this another listen through Tidal as I haven't made my mind up on it yet.

My Bubba - big bad good. One of Bruce Woodhouse's recommendations on the "Best New Music of 2016" thread. Tidal (what on earth did I do to discover new music before Tidal ? )

Must be in an "alt-folk" mood this evening. Sam Beam and Jessca Hoop. Spotted that the full album is now available on Tidal in the UK (previously only a track or two). Lush Harmonies and a gentle, swaying, folky Americana.

Good olde English Prog', Its a regret not having played this for such a very long time.

1987 - Original vinyl...
Pleasant way to end the evening.

1973 - white label promo - vinyl...
Not a great fun of them but their debut album is less flamboyant than their follow up albums . Quite a mix of heavy rock, blues and funk influences. Unmistakably, their musical signature was already very embedded in this record thanks to May's guitar and Mercury's exquisite voice timbre.

Arguably their best album although I still prefer their earlier efforts. My last one for tonight.

On vinyl.
