Original double vinyl...
Me too. The only way to listen to this album, is on original vinyl.

Giving these their first spin...

On vinyl...

A fascinating exploration of the 16th century musical ornamentation, diminution and improvisation by the More Hispano ensemble lead by recorder player Vicente Parrilla. My third disc of the Capre Diem label, all of them highly recommended.

Nice open airy sound...

1971 - Tidal... Superb stuff. Been looking for ages. If only I could find a decent copy of the original vinyl. ![]()

Head East. Flat As A Pancake. On vinyl from 1974. "Never Been Any Reason" is a tight rocker anyone listening in the 1970's ought to be familiar with. The rest of the album is every bit as good with very good SQ.

Joe Walsh. But Seriously Folks ... On original vinyl from 1978. Great album and the SQ is seriously as good as the music.

A good set list on this particularly "side one" which is getting played at the moment. Once again the recording quality of this bootleg is not bad at all.

As the "Alternative View" in the title suggests this "features nearly 79 minutes of unreleased soundtrack from the 1983 movie in as yet unheard sound quality." A good recording with plenty of good material on it so its a surprise that it did not become another release from the band.

Rush. Eponymous debut (1974) on CD remaster from 1997. Interesting to hear the band's promising beginning sans Peart's influence. Likely little budget for cover art.
Start of the Saturday, heavy jazz I would say, but very enjoyable...

It's impossible to do justice to any collection of Ravel's piano works in a few words. However, Osborne is a pianist with a clear signature, and he's immediately recognisable here, in his technically very accomplished and scrupulous manner. He lets emotion come from the text more than many of his colleagues, and in his best recordings - including this one - that works. There is no shortage of great Ravel recordings, and let's face it, they aren't very different from each other as Ravel was quite detailed in his instructions, but the pianist's sense of rhythm, architecture vs detail, and dexterity makes all the difference. This one is in good company.
Cheers,
EJ
