What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XII)

2016 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread (and links to previous years) can be found here;

Only checking him out via Tidal, as I'm seeing him soon in Scarborough, so thought I'd best get familiar with his music.
Exceptional young singer / guitarist / songwriter.................give it a listen folks.

The front cover photo was taken in the Heathrow Tunnel which for obvious reasons had to be shut at the time
Little Feat and Robert actually did a tour together in the US and he was asked to join the band but turned them down.
Sneakin' only had Lowell on it, the main band was New Orlean's The Meters but Pressure drop had Little Feat as the core band.
During my workout, I am happy this was brought out - great album.

And the advent of Tidal makes it possible to pick up on these recommendations right away, so the "Why might anyone be interested" part of the thread title now has real significance.
Personally, I really only began posting to this thread in any numbers because, now, folks can check out recommendations as soon as they appear.
I've certainly latched onto several artists based on shouts from folks on here, whereas previously, I might never have gotten round to giving them a listen.
Thanks all. ![]()
Dave.
Getting to an even more cool form of jazz.....

Glass of Pimm's and lemonade, warm summer's evening and Caravan!

Continuing the journey, music which you could always listen to, but not on my Island list....

Good choice...
Originally persuaded by my wife to dig this out on Tidal a few weeks ago - find I'm listening to it quite often now. Very pleasant winding-down music.

Led Zeppelin, Houses of the Holy. I had the pleasure of watching Heart in Glasgow last night and the encore consisted of three Zep sogs including No Quarter which was magical. felt the need to hear the original tonight. 24 bit Flac via Audirvana/Hugo
Just browsing some saved albums in Tidal for a last play tonight & realised I owed this another run..Lovely stuff.
