2016 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread (and links to previous years) can be found here;

Jimi Hendrix. Blues. On CD from 1994. A great collection of music that showcases both Jimi's traditional and free-wheeling styles,
Various artists - Rhythms Del Mundo
Sunny covers of songs by Buena Vista Social Club.
C.
Rush, Exit Stage Left, still their best live album in my view, at the height of their powers and every song a classic. Original vinyl

Hi Jeff, Google brought me to this topic because I'm looking for this album. Do you by any chance know if this is still available for purchase? Seems to be disappeared from iTunes and can't find it anywhere else..

Hello JQ, Perhaps Stevee_S link will be of help. I have "Live At The Luminaire" and the studio release it draws from "Bright Light Ballads" and think both are terrific. I, at times, will search to see if he has released anything newer and have always come up empty. Your post prompted me to do this again and although I did not find any links to purchases, there is a lot on YouTube and he also appears to be using the name Howie Payne which will get you both Twitter and FaceBook links to him. Good luck. regards, Jeff A

They have only released five albums in sixteen years this their second one was very good indeed, rock, hard rock verging on new metal its a bit of a minor classic.

Hi James, excuse me butting in; if you don't mind it being shipped from the UK then you can get it by going to that well known "South American River" website in the UK and type in Howard Eliott Payne "Live At The Luminaire" and you will find it available to buy there.

Never thought I would see this up on here. Once danced the congo with him and the audience (the small number that was there) across a stage and up and down the aisles at one of his gigs. Long story.
Back in 1978 i was 11 and my mother gave me the money to buy the cassette which i consumed.....
Some of the best in those years i believe.
Nerina Pallot, because she is super gifted, full of personality and this is my fave album by her, plus I haven't played it for a week or two. After watching her earlier this year I gutted I can't get to London for her Xmas gig. Flac via Audirvana/Hugo
Joan Osborne. Relish, another talented lady who, sadly, I haven't yet watched live but who is certainly on my hit list. An excellent album this, full of folky rock with strange twists here and there, well worth a listen. Flac via Audirvana/Hugo

This is confusing because of the nearly identical album covers. If I search amazon and uk and type in Howard Eliott Payne "Live At The Luminaire" I only get results for "Bright Light Ballads" (same cover with different title). If I search the web for the same and scroll down the page a bit, I get a hit at Discogs (uk) which appears to show it available as a download purchase. JQ, my email is in my profile if you need it. Lynyrd Skynyrd - Second Helping
Jackson Browne - Lives In The Balance
RUSH - Exit Stage Left
Came across some albums by the Cate Brothers in my LP collection I hadn't played for some time, decided to have a look on Amazon to see if I could get hold of some of their other albums on CD. I was horrified to see the price for these, and so I guess I will have to make do with the 3 I have on vinyl, and the four that are available on Tidal.
Have just had a fantastic late morning, early afternoon listening to these great albums.
First, a couple of the albums I have on vinyl:

followed by a couple of Cate Brothers albums available on Tidal:

I first came across this band in the early to mid 80s, and playing these albums has reminded me just how good they were, and are. Fantastic soulful music!

Going to have the pleasure of seeing him live next week.

Good early RHCPs album that featured their new line up, heavy, funky and one of their best.

Nick Drake - Five Leaves Left
This is the Back to Black 180g pressing, which is very good sound indeed. It's a superb album. I can't believe it's taken me this long to discover it!
Yes!

Here in great shape with Groove Armada

Good first solo effort from Airbag's lead guitarist and songwriter Bjorn Riis, the way he goes about playing his guitar is in the mould of David Gilmour and Steve Rothery.

Brilliant album, well worth a listen if you like this style of music.
