2016 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread (and links to previous years) can be found here;
Been enjoying her latest album "Undercurrent" - so exploring earlier releases. Rather impressed so far. Tidal.

I've not played this for ages, and had forgotten how good it is. Wonderfully played, and a stunningly good recording. The bass guitar is just lovely.

Talking Heads - Remain in Light
Awesome on vinyl. Sounding better than it ever did in the early eighties. I wasn't using 'awesome' then, mind.

Wading through Tidal I found this live version of Thirteenth Step, playing it now and its very good with an enthusiastic crowd in the mix. I never knew this live version existed so a nice surprise, its what makes having a massive music library at your fingertips so appealing.

OK, it's not actually Wilco himself, but it is a great selection from the Chess catalogue.
Many of us will have lots of these tracks already, but it's nice to have them all in one place, and it's a bit of a steal over on the River right now. ![]()

House empty. Neighbours out. Volume whacked up. Bl**dy magnificent! This album is a potent mix of real power saturated with emotion. I never seem to tire of it.

Listening to Wilco's complication, as above, has got me into a back to schooldays, Chess R 'n B frame of mind, so here goes. ![]()

Santana IV ......... the old Woodstock gang back together again, & it shows !!! Like they had never been away & on a weekend get together. It's a breath of refreshed Santana compared to recent albums. This is a band !!! and at their age, there's hope for us all !!!

1974 - CD(2004) - WAV...

Still in a Chess mood, the sun's just appeared in gloomy North Yorkshire, so what better than a session from Chuck?
