2016 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread (and links to previous years) can be found here;

This looks interesting as a resident of Sheffield all my life not sure how I missed this concert at the City Hall.
Graham.
I was living in Sheffield in 1974, but being in my early 20's I remember missing a lot of things.

Vinyl.

I've been in a bit of a Perfect Circle playing mood recently so going black to their excellent debut album Mer De Noms.
I've been in an APC playing mood for years. 2 of my favorite albums. Maynard is a great vocalist. You listen to Puscifer at all?

Steve Winwood. Back In The High Life. On original vinyl from 1986. Digitally recorded and a good example of a well done early DMM from Ted Jensen at Sterling. It's a shame the tight, fast SQ of that time has evolved into the sea of compression we're now swimming in these days.

Yes. 90125. On original vinyl from 1983. Another great one for tight, fast SQ and my favorite album from Yes.
After the games yesterday evening I listened to this....

The last music before I drive off to North Sea Jazz Festival...

David Gilmour. Rattle That Lock. On vinyl from 2015. I really like the music, but the heavy bass compression sullies the SQ a bit for me.

Pink Floyd. Meddle. On original UK vinyl from 1971. Gifted to me recently from a forum friend. The SQ and sound staging is fantastic. 'San Tropez' one of my favorite PF oddities - always loved Richard Wright's ivory tickling on the track.

All Them Witches January re-issue which is once again very good indeed in their desert, blues, psychedelic, stoner rock style.

I haven't played any Puscifer but notice J.M. Keenan's link to them and Tool. They are available on Tidal, any tips where to start with their albums?
Steve

Neil Young. Harvest. On original vinyl from 1972. A true timeless classic.

Chores done in the house but rained off in the garden so it looks like I will have to rough it having a sports watching day; F1 practise(s), Scottish Open Golf and Murray at Wimbledon
. Listening to this early Pendragon with the TV muted.
Stones - Emotional Rescue
Revs me up for a shift, with coffee.
C.

Fine, fine music.

I read that slightly wrong, the first time around.
Admittedly, work's not been that great lately.

The opening bars on "Route 66", which kicks this album off, grabbed my attention as a 15 year old
, and the album was played to death thereafter.

I just realised mine is the American release...only 2 days older than me then!
