2016 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread (and links to previous years) can be found here;

Posted this yesterday.................simply can't stop playing it!
This was my introduction to "real" music, and was a basic building block in my musical tastes to this day.............cheap as chips on the River, I urge you, go buy it NOW! ![]()

This is XTC at their mature best imho. Simply beautiful.
Sounds good too.

Give this a listen, superb two disc set............all killer, no filler.

In the mood for some music that is sunnier than the day,
Shinedown, Simple Man, awesome awesome accoustic version of a great song and brilliant SQ too. Sounding rather wonderful via Tidal on Audirvana/Hugo

Are you still DSDing dayjay?

Getting into holiday driving mood.

No Steve, I was getting the odd drop out as a result of low memory so I'm back to no upsampling. At some stage I will pick up a new MM with more memory but until then it still sounds brilliant.

I seem to be giving this a regular work-out recently.

Still my favourite Led Zep album. I bought it when it was released and played it so much I wore the LP out.
Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Last Rebel, brilliant album but this is an accoustic version of the song itself and rather magnificent it is too. Beautifully recorded with excellent SQ and highely recommended. I've seen these live twice and am gutted that they have never played this live. Flac via Audirvana/Hugo

Got the taste for some more Led Zep now.

Yep, I like that Definitive Collection too.

Side 2 of this fine set just now...but I feel some Zep coming on...I wonder why ![]()

Changed my mind. A high-res blast of some Stones classics.

Just back from me hols, so this (on vinyl) seemed appropriate:

I've been in a bit of a Perfect Circle playing mood recently so going black to their excellent debut album Mer De Noms.
I've been in an APC playing mood for years. 2 of my favorite albums. Maynard is a great vocalist. You listen to Puscifer at all?
I haven't played any Puscifer but notice J.M. Keenan's link to them and Tool. They are available on Tidal, any tips where to start with their albums?
Steve
They are on Tidal. Start at the beginning. It's different from Tool and APC. Donkey Punch the Night has a good version of Bohemian Rhapsody.

Thanks SS I've put a couple into the "to try" playlist.

2007 - OST - Tidal... Great soundtrack.
There's a delicious version of Too Drunk **** originally by The Dead Kennedys.
Vinyl. A contemporary masterpiece:

The Allman Brothers Band - "At Fillmore East" (1971)
