The joy after the weekend...

CD rip Wav...Superb debut from Kingcrow.... Modern prog metal, it took 2 or 3 listens to really get it but worth the effort and recording quality is good.

You're in for more of a treat if you like this one Rob, they made a few albums before this, their previous In Crescendo is available as a Bandcamp download and some earlier ones on that famous river site although mostly seem to be as MP3 downloads, enjoy. ![]()
Thanks for the prompt I'm giving it a play now.

U2
Achtung Baby
Downloaded from Highresaudio this morning, 24blt 44.1kHz.
Nearly finished listing to this one, as a 24bit there are some improvement over the CD version that i have, but it is not huge no doubt due to the fact it was recorded on "DAT" tape.

Listing to the U2 album has put me in full 80's mood.
Now listing to
Simple Minds.
Once Upon a Time.

CD 2. And delightful it is too.

CD rip in wav....If you like Airbag check this...better SQ than the last two Airbag albums too.

Rush, Grace Under Pressure, because it's been a while since I listened to this one and it's a great album even if it is a little synth heavy. Excellent album cover too. 24 bit Flac via Audirvana/Hugo
1st dip into this one....

Just bought both volumes on vinyl, so giving this a first listen . . . not too loud as the kids are in bed though.

Next: Bob Mould - Workbook.
One of my all time favorite albums - top 3, and depending on the day, #1. Terrific writing and guitar playing, showcasing that Mould could be (very) introspective while not forgetting the blazing leads and stupendous live feel of Husker Du. An absolute classic - one of the very few albums I think everyone should own.

Always a pleasure. CD rip.
And earlier - likewise.

(2016)
He is in experimental mode for much of this album and I like what he's doing.

Suzanne Vega. Solitude Standing. On original vinyl from 1987. I put this on earlier simply for musical enjoyment but realized what a great demo album it makes as well. The opening track "Tom's Diner" is a pure, unembellished, naked vocal. "Luka" follows with shiny reverb on electric guitar. The succeeding tracks are rich with acoustic guitar timbre. There's plenty of echo to be evaluated throughout, and the next to the last track "Wooden Horse" offers a heavy percussion workout. The SQ is open and airy and I was surprised to find this a Bearsville recording as I've always associated that studio's sound with more of a closefield signature. The direct metal mastering works very well with the sound of this LP.
Summertime: Music for Oboe and Guitar. John Anderson & Simon Wynberg
This my instant go to relax music, played late last evening & now its sunny breakfast music. Outstanding musicians & recorded under the Long Galley dome at Castle Howard the acoustics are superb. As an (ex) trumpet player, the the last track "Variation" - Op 42 by Vanhal, var 4, is an impossible mind boggling, triple tongue twisting lip splitting piece that I have never perfected ever.
