A reliable foot-tapper is this album. I find it has a lovely rhythm.

Big Head Todd & the Monsters  -  "Sister Sweetly"  (1993)

Continuing with more Dave Holland. Naturally a bit more of a complex listen compared to his smaller ensembles.  CD rip

Ended the evening with the Join Together triple Lp - not The Whos best, a bit too much like caberet. but can still enjoy it occasionally and it went down well tonight!

The Kinks. State Of Confusion. On vinyl from 1983. Spinning the band's Pye singles last night left me with a hankering to play this, probably their last worthy album.

Great cover art in keeping with the theme of the album title. Although I'm never quite sure whether those are supposed to be movement lines by the devil's tail or if he's dropping a deuce. Trouble either way.

God bless it I love bagpipes and marching bands...played the trumpet as a youth in a marching band.  Been listening to Basler March with Coldstream Guards, Arromanches  which are my two absolute favorites.  Conquest of Paradise with the Household Division which is outstanding...then I heard this:

Mac-an-irish / Molly Connell / She Moved Through the Fair / Old Hag at the Kiln / Banjo Breakdown

Household Division - https://open.spotify.com/track/4TsFk04UXROIlw76ze5ety

The hair stood up on my neck when I heard "She Moved Through the Fair", and I got wet eyes having never heard it before it just hit me hard.

Lynyrd Skynyrd. Street Survivors. On original MCA vinyl from 1977. A great album from my high school days. Always brings back memories of friends and care free times from those teenage years.

The Beatles. Rubber Soul (1965). Original CD release from 1987. A familiar old friend to me and for whatever reason the dynamics of this particular format have me giving it repeated plays of late.
