2016 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread (and links to previous years) can be found here;

Beck. Midnight Vultures. On HDCD from 1999. Leave it to Beck to bring a banjo to a hip-hop party, and make it work!

Crushingly heavy metal from this Swedish band, not sure that its the right choice for this morning.
Brilliant posted:^^Tried the new Rhino/Atlantic mono? - different but very +ve listen IMO (more 'punchy' so perhaps may not fit in a 'lazy .. afternoon'

Heavy nu metal and always good to listen to.

David Gilmour (Debut 1978 solo album, housed in a Hipgnosis designed gatefold picture sleeve.

More intense stuff from Korn ![]()
This is nice album, fairly "conventional" modern jazz with immaculate playing. Tidal

Jimi doing a mix of his own songs and blues standards............as only he can do it.

Prince - "The Truth"
I know I've plugged this one before, (is that allowed?), but His Purpleness doing it acoustically is sufficiently different to be worth a listen.

Tidal is your friend. ![]()

Original vinyl. Why? I'm having a quiet evening and this seemed to fit the mood.

Bluesfest anyone?

A recommendation from my daughter, and I am quite enjoying it so far.
More ancient vinyl

Why? It's smooth, it's relaxin' and it just fits my mood.

Solid blues from this guy, who quotes one of of his influences as Jimi.
You can certainly hear this in the title track..........recommended.

Spacey psychedelic rock sounding as good now as it did back when it was released.
