2016 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.

CD 1 / 10 CD box. Just beginning to listen this set and pleasantly surprised. Very good SQ.
We saw him in Chicago perform Schubert's last three sonatas. Lewis was pretty good but I am assuming that his confident-mascular style is even better fitting for Beethoven's music.

CD. Forgot I had it lurking in a box of old discs.

Rush. Moving Pictures. On original vinyl from 1981. I'm home demoing speakers and this is an excellent one for evaluating percussive attack... although, probably any Rush album is great for that.
Listened to this yesterday evening, find it difficult to appreciate this Wagnrr music while it has it's nice elements. Perhaps it's also the wrong season for this and I should really listen and not have if running while doing an errand..

Felt the need for some Scandi-jazz to accompany the thunderstorm. Tidal.

Listening for the first time to some good live tracks on the 2nd CD of this classic. Tidal

She certainly makes good live recordings
(or any recording for that matter)
One that I come back to a lot

Jamie , I'm quite big fan of Mr Adams (ever since hearing "Gold" playing in a record shop back in the day when it was released), but I've never tried this one. Probably put off by the Taylor Swift thing - but, prompted by your post I'm giving it a run now on Tidal and quite impressed so far. Cheers N.

You're a sucker for redheads aren't you, Kevin
What me Mike? Never!?
PS - Don't let Mrs Kev (a brunette) know
OK bit of a tangent on the, thread however on theme I am rather drawn to Charlotte Spencer in The Living & The Dead on the Beeb. And a love of photography too!

Glad you like it. See if you too can't help but think of Springsteen's 'I'm on Fire' when he's singing 'Shake it off'...

1959 - Original vinyl... Thanks to Kuma for the heads up on this one.

Certainly sounds very similar - driven along by those rim-shots. Funnily enough my 13 year old son came in while it was playing and said in a disgusted tone "Dad you do know that's Taylor Swift don't you ...?" I did explain it was a cover version but I suspect that Dad had now gone down even further in the cool stakes ... Although I can now rip him about his apparently encyclopaedic Taylor Swift knowledge ![]()

A Russian band and the vocals are Russian and so well expressed that I don't feel I'm missing out... Very good metal and heavy rock, "doom metal" is one of their tags (which I don't really understand), very atmospheric it could be a movie soundtrack. Another good group, downloaded from bandcamp.

2000 - Tidal...
1997 - Tidal... Political band from Mexico- don't tell Trump. Great humour and touches of RATM and RHCP. The sun is shining and all I need is some tequila.![]()
Playing Ryan Adams earlier prompted me to dig this one out again. Tidal.

1977 - Original vinyl...
Calming down now and for some reason I felt like listening to Turn of the Century.

1983 - Tidal...
A great recital album.....

More interesting metal (of all different nuances) from this Russian band. This was their debut release and includes synthesisers on some tracks that work very well with their music. Not a fan of the growling though, something they stopped after this one I think.
