Steven Wilson, 4 1/2 nasty MP3 Autorip as the CD is a new release and is on its way. First Listen. Cast off's from other albums these tracks maybe, but they are very good. Looking forward to hearing it properly.

Listening to a 24/96 download from Quobuz.  First listen but impressions are good, it feels a bit more Jazzy than HCE.  Looking forward to the reworking of Don't Hate Me, one of my favourite Porupine Tree songs.

Execellent vfm @Quobuz, It is great that SW is not overcharging for the high res versions.

David

I would agree with you David, it is a bit more jazzy, Don't Hate Me is really good. Enjoy.

Simon.

I have never seen this before. Will be looking to see if there is a CD version available. It looks like it could be very interesting from the cover.

Found it and it is on its way.

Simon, the concert comprises of music from their first two albums - Dummy and Portishead. There's also a video of the performance and the band were at their best in those days. Needless to say Miss Gibbons is the star of the show. Marvellous!

I'd never live it down if Mrs DayJay found out I was listening to this without her but Toris Amos, Little Earthquakes, which is a brilliant album. Flac via Audirvana/Hugo

Riverside. Love, Fear and the Time Machine via Tidal. After getting into Lunatic Soul, who are a side project of Riversides, Mariusz Duda I am going through these Guys Albums and I am liking it so far.

Excellent! A well recorded album I might add.

I am playing Second Life Syndrome just now and this is also really good.

Eagles. One Of These Nights. On original vinyl from 1975.

John Mellencamp. Uh-Huh. On vinyl from 1983. Goodness but side one really gets the toe a tappin', especially "Authority Song".

Neil Young. Comes A Time. An early pressing from 1978. Hard to pick a favorite album from Neil but this would be a good choice.

ATOLL - L'ARAIGNÉE-MAL

Nirvana. Nevermind (1991). On vinyl from 2009. I'm not necessarily a fan of all things mastered by Bernie Grundman, but he hit the nail on the head with this one.

Been on a bit of a Bowie binge, starting with:

  1. Pinups
  2. The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars
  3. Outside
  4. Earthling
  5. Hours...
  6. Let's Dance  and finishing with
  7. Young Americans

Pretty much the full gamut of Bowie, from glitter rock to the Eno collaborations and German Experimental phase to the more mainstream pop of Let's Dance and Young Americans.  He really did like to push the envelope musically at times.  He will be dearly missed, and his music will live on.

Definitely one of my favourite Neil albums.  There is just something incredibly right and balanced with this album.  The tour for this album was also one of his best.  Only matched by Harvest and Live at Massey Hall in my opinion.

Yes. 90125. On vinyl from 1983. Fragile is a nice album but has always been thin sounding in any format I've heard. 90125 is quite the antithesis for SQ - superb. Combined with the music makes for a very nice album.

Two great choices as well. The recording at Massey Hall does a fantastic job of capturing the acoustics - you can appreciate the venue along with the music.

Moving back in time a bit with the Creedence Clearwater Revival 40th Anniversary Edition of the first album.  Includes a positively killer live version of Susie Q recorded at the Fillmore, San Francisco in 1969.

Have the original vinyl for this one and it is a great recording.  The fairly recent re-release of "Sounds from the Topographic Ocean" also is a very good vinyl pressing for SQ I have found.

Pink Floyd. Meddle (1971). On remastered Capitol CD from 1994. One that passed me by in my youth, I make up for lost time with it now. Seems hardly a month goes by I don't give this a spin.
