2016 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread (and links to previous years) can be found here;
Just ripped and getting its first play

AK and US always a fantastic combination, playing the first half of this one.
Very nice-sounding 70s American ABC pressing. Bought the other week during a huge cratedigging expedition:

With these type of albums it requires a number of runs before you fully start to appreciate it, while Jarrett has created albums which are more difficult to access....

Vinyl. This is the EMI 100 pressing from 1997:

Absolutely Bert - and I have been trying this one for quite a while now. Similar in this respect to "Personal Mountains", about which there was some useful discussion on here a short while back.

Rather easier to enjoy (on a different level). CD rip.

Thanks for the reminder! On now. (Vinyl)

On CD:-

Some summer reggae from the master.

Followed by this..................some familiar, and some not so well known exponents of the craft from Jamaica.
Graham Parker and The Rumour - The Up Escalator
Why? Dinner's over. Swing yer pants.

1983 - Original vinyl...
Another Beach Boys classic on EMI 100. This one's from later in 1997 and is, according to the cover, "Analogue mastered from analogue tapes". Sounds very nice...

CD

Such a lovely, soothing album this, especially the songs Dear John and When I Watch You Sleep.

The road less travelled............some lesser known, but awfully good tunes, put together by David Rodigan, champion of reggae and rocksteady music.
Stones - Love you Live
Making a bit of a night of it.

Not played this for a while so thought I'd give it a spin.

1967 - Original vinyl - Mono...

Lotsa folks "liking" the reggae this evening, so here's a great selection of rock steady from one of the less well known producers.
Every track's a winner...............highly recommended compilation from Pressure Sounds.
