Given what's coming out in November, I thought I'd put my scarf on, roll some marbles, put a nice glass of something on my cardboard coaster and immerse myself in the "extra" discs from this set:

Next one up prompted me to listen to the originals...............belting in car music.

This is a newly released "tribute" to CCR, done by various Latin musicians.

Apparently, CCR were huge in South America and with Latin fans, and this realisation has prompted this album.

Completely bonkers, it even has the Reverend Billy on one track..................it's great!

I've not played this for a while so it's getting an outing this afternoon. It was on constant rotation when i first got it and seemed to be a forum favourite at the time.

It's also one of those albums that is a real indicator of system performance and setup.

Continuing the theme of slightly bonkers, but great music.

Not particularly bonkers, but good music. 1970s UK LP:

Tied in with the topic elsewhere in The Music Room, concerning the Pink Floyd upcoming reissue..............you want to hear some "new" old Floyd?

Well here's the very chap...............again, completely mad, but strangely habit forming!

Having raptures, listening to "Being There", by Tord Gustavsen Trio. CD Rip via jriver.  I don't yet know which of Gustavsen's albums is my favorite yet, perhaps it's this one. What's yours?

I only have their four first recordings on ECM,  my favorite is their second one from 2005:

Klyde, of the first three trio albums, which are all wonderful, Being There would be my preferred choice.

Haim, the recent album that Tord has done with Simin Tander (What was said) on vocals is, once you have got the hang of it, probably the best thing he has done. And live in concert it is even better.

Even after all those years this album still delights.

This is something else echoes of Floyd here!

I thought I'd go back still further into the Beatles catalogue. Some superb songs on this for example Girl still holds some magic for me. Staggering to think this album is now over half-a-century old

Nirvana - Nirvana.  Great album, needless to say.

But damn, there is such a direct line from Nirvana back to Husker Du it isn't funny.
