Leaving aside the album, that's one hell of a photo.

A true originator.........an important inspiration for the so-called British Blues Explosion.

Mike, the artwork is by a chap called Frank Maddocks and he's been responsible for quite a few album covers. Google him and you'll see what I mean.

I don't think the music is your cup of tea though. Just in the mood for something a little "punchier" tonight.

Probably last blues one for me this evening............still, another one which takes me back to schooldays............and affected my subsequent tastes in music for all time.

My first listen to this live album from Puscifer and its another good one from them. Maynard James Keenan, known for his work with the bands Tool and A Perfect Circle is creating something special again with his Puscifer project, enjoying this and their albums very much. Thanks Spurrier Sucks!

This record isn't wearing well... The Hagen can't well leave a single bar alone, which I initially found rather fresh but now realise is just surface bling. Their playing often comes dangerously close to crooning, if that's possible on four stringed instruments. The Hagen's earlier recordings for DG have been hit and miss, with these two works in particular not among the best performances (their KV 421 and 575 are fantastic), but reversing my earlier opinion, I'm not sure, at this point, that these new recordings are an improvement.

Jimmy Buffett. Coconut Telegraph. On vinyl from 1981. Some relaxing island music or as Jimmy called it "drunken caribbean rock 'n' roll".

Chopin: Sokolov

Piano Concerto No. 1 in e-minor

I should feel more guilty.  Despite a mountain of work resting on my shoulders and not going anywhere anytime soon I decided it was a 'me first' day and had two very nice long sessions at the piano.  One early in the morning and another starting in the late afternoon.  WIth less time left, now I only have time to listen to short (but great) records

John Denver's Greatest Hits. First issue vinyl from 1973. Brilliant songwriter. Seems his smiling face was everywhere on US TV in the mid-1970s.
