2016 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread (and links to previous years) can be found here;

1981 - Original vinyl...
Streaming | Transcoded DSD

(2001)
Ocean Colour Scene - A hyperactive workout for the flying squad
Clearly past their best. Just as long they are not saying the same of me.
C.

Jackson Browne - "The Very Best Of ......." disc 2 (2004)
Had a listen at it triggers by the above as I didn't have her in my collection ...., decided to buy some stuff...

A great driving album...

Been playing this a lot over the past week. Great "Cosmic Americana". Similar feel to William Tyler's latest but a bit rockier. Tidal.

Roger Waters - In The Flesh - streaming from the HDX. Loved the DVD, and really enjoy this when in the right mood and tonight is one of those times. Great album!

Leaving aside the album, that's one hell of a photo.
Mike, the artwork is by a chap called Frank Maddocks and he's been responsible for quite a few album covers. Google him and you'll see what I mean.
I don't think the music is your cup of tea though. Just in the mood for something a little "punchier" tonight.
Thanks Tony. You've piqued my interest and I'll look him up.

My personal favorite by the Deftones is the White Pony. I'm not a big fan of the new one Not bad just meh.
More from Steve Gunn - 2013.

Really enjoying his stuff.
"Steve Gunn is a sometime-guitarist in Kurt Vile's Violators, and one half of the Gunn-Truscinski Duo. Time Off is a collection of six loose, spiraling guitar songs that give more than they ask: generous compositions, gently presented, recalling the Grateful Dead, JJ Cale, and Bert Jansch."

I agree. Around the Fur is also a great album. Although the trademark sound is still there, they lost the rawness of early years and their latest albums are far too polished.

1969 - Original vinyl...

Joe Henry - "Blood From Stars" (2009)

Enjoying this one a lot Bert - good recommendation. Nice rich atmospheric sound (even through Tidal

. I had previously listened to the album below quite a few times. Yes it's odd that he isn't better known.

Quite different like the album of Cassandra Wilson...

Last one this evening. First listen to this on Tidal.

Rather good first impression. Voice very reminiscent of Joni Mitchell.

This is an excellent genre defying album, jazz/funk with a twist of electronica if I had to try to pidgeonhole it.
It's on Tidal give it a listen if you're feeling anyway bored with the same old same old.
